White Christmas Raffle

The Selinsgrove White Christmas Committee is conducting a raffle to raise funds for events and decorations. Prizes include:

  • Grand Prize – 40 inch Samsung flat screen TV
  • Second Prize – Hand-crafted 2009 White Christmas quilt
  • Third Prize – 2009 Library Crock commemorating DH&L Fire Department
  • Fourth Prize – Hand-crafted 2009 White Christmas pillow

Prizes are displayed at The Stereo Shoppe at 19 North Market. The cost of tickets is $1 each, or 6 for $5.  You can purchase tickets from now until December 5th at over 40 Selinsgrove businesses.  The drawing will be held at 11AM on the Selinsgrove Commons, located on the corner of Market and Pine in downtown Selinsgrove.

White Christmas Decorating Day

“White Christmas Decorating Day” will start at 8:30am in the downtown.  Volunteers from the community, including high school students, will be helping the White Christmas Decorating Committee dress the downtown businesses, streetlights and Selinsgrove Commons in its holiday attire!  New White Christmas banners, as well as new White Christmas signs at the North and South end of town will be added this year.

White Christmas Community Tree Lighting Ceremony

Will begin at 6:30pm on the Selinsgrove Commons.  There is a fresh new program with special guests and lots of Christmas carols for you to sing along.  Following the ceremony you are invited to stroll or ride the horse-drawn surrey to the Community Thanksgiving Service at Christ United Methodist on 8th Street in Selinsgrove.  Reserved seating will be available for those participating in the stroll.  Please join us for an exciting kick off to Selinsgrove’s White Christmas Celebration.

Late Shopper’s Night

Late Shopper’s Night will in the downtown from 6-11pm.  Over 30 businesses will be open and many will feature local artists, photographers, and authors as well.  Don’t miss the charming holiday atmosphere including:

  • Holiday shopping and homemade refreshments at businesses
  • Roasted chestnuts and hot cider (weather permitting)
  • Free horse-drawn carriage rides from 7-10pm
  • 2010 Memories Calendars for sale (Commons)
  • Selinsgrove gifts including ornaments, cat’s meows, and t-shirts.

  • Traveling carolers and musicians

Friends of the Selinsgrove Library Tree Fest of Children’s Books
